New Tayio Yuden Sales Offices in North Carolina Enhance Customer Service

Taiyo Yuden (U.S.A.), Inc. announced today the opening of two new regional sales offices that will offer comprehensive, local service and support to customers in key regions in the U.S. electronics market. The South Central Regional Office is located in Irving, Texas while the Eastern Regional Office is located in Raleigh, North Carolina. The opening of these two offices comes almost 25 years after the establishment of Taiyo Yuden (U.S.A.), Inc. and reaffirms the company's commitment to the North American market and its goal of offering world class support and service.

Speaking before a gathering of key customers at an opening ceremony held today at the Eastern Regional Sales Office in Raleigh, North Carolina, Mitsugu Kawada, President of Taiyo Yuden Co. Ltd. -parent company of Taiyo Yuden (U.S.A.) Inc. - stated, "The U.S. market is an important market for Taiyo Yuden because of the technological leadership role it has in Information Technology. The success of Taiyo Yuden depends on its working closely together with leading companies in this market to meet their current needs and identify future requirements." The North Carolina Office will offer service and support to customers in 20 states in the Eastern United States.

On Friday July 6, 2001, the company held an opening ceremony at its new South Central Regional Office to introduce its facilities and staff to customers in the region. The new office will be responsible for customers in a five state area-Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas - and will focus on supporting the design and manufacturing activities of the major personal computer and telecommunications companies operating in that region.
