Nilfisk 545 Floor Machine
The Nilfisk 545 Floor Machine effectively cleans a variety of floor surfaces without contaminating the area by combining a high filtration floor buffer and vacuum cleaner. The floor machine, which comes equipped with a HEPA filter, is able to meet cleanroom standards up to Class 100, making it safe for use in pharmaceutical, semiconductor and biotechnology cleanrooms.
A recent particle profile test performed on the machine at an independent contamination control testing facility in Northern California, confirmed that the 545 is suitable for Class 100 cleanrooms when it is operated with both the drive pad and the vacuum cleaner on.
The Nilfisk 545 tested so well because of its unique graduated, four-stage filtration system. The first stage is a two-ply, disposable bag that fits in a dust container. The container, which is mounted to the handle for easy disposal, is linked to the motor and suction skirt by two rubber hoses that keep the handle lightweight and uncluttered. The lockable safety latch offers added security and eliminates the possibility of inadvertent disassembly.
The next stages of filtration consist of a polyester main filter, felt microfilter and one HEPA exhaust filter. The HEPA filter collects and retains 99.97 percent of all ultrafine particles, toxic and nuisance, down to and including 0.3 microns.
The suction skirt, which covers the floor pad, works with the vacuum cleaner to prevent dust particles generated by the buffing pad from being released into the cleanroom environment. In addition, the suction skirt is height adjustable which prevents premature wear on the floor. A unique rotoflex drive pad ensures constant pressure is maintained over the floor surface.
