New Spray Nozzle Design Dramatically Reduces Nozzle Build-up, Cleaning and Maintenance

Small Change. Big Benefit.

Frequent stops to clean coating materials from air atomizing spray nozzles can have a serious impact on productivity and costs. If this describes your manufacturing process, the new air atomizing spray nozzle from Spraying Systems Co. can help improve your process quality, volume and profitability.

In typical air atomizing application scenarios, a few wet drops of liquid formed during the air atomizing process ride air currents back and hit the air cap. These drops then dry and build up in thick layers (often called "bearding"). This can block liquid and air orifices, resulting in disturbed and distorted spray distribution. Constant cleaning is necessary to ensure a quality end product. Our new spray nozzle design includes important features that prevent the build-up/blockage cycle. Modifications to the spray nozzle change localized air currents so that drops no longer fall back onto the air cap.

An Easy-to-Incorporate Benefit

The re-designed set-up assembly works with standard Spraying Systems Co. air atomizing nozzles, allowing you to realize the benefits of this advancement easily and quickly.
