Noven Names Robert C. Strauss CEO, President

Noven Pharmaceuticals Inc. has announced that Robert Strauss, 56, has joined the company as CEO, president and a member of the board of directors. Earlier this year, Strauss served as president and COO of IVAX Corp., a multinational pharmaceutical company, until his resignation in July. Until February 1997, Strauss served as chairman, president and CEO of Cordis Corp., a developer and manufacturer of medical devices.

Strauss succeeds Steven Sablotsky, Noven's founder and chairman of the board. Sablotsky, who will remain an active chairman, said: "We are fortunate to have a talented and proven executive like Bob Strauss to lead Noven through its evolution into a fully integrated pharmaceutical company."
