Online Pharmacy Signs Up McKesson HBOC As Sole-Source Distributor

McKesson HBOC Inc. has signed an exclusive agreement with Soma.com (Seattle, WA), a full-service Internet pharmacy launched on Jan. 15, to be its sole-source distributor of pharmaceutical products.

Soma.com dispenses prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, healthcare products, health and beauty aids and alternative remedies. Once the pharmacy receives and verifies the prescription with the patient's healthcare provider, Soma.com offers next-day delivery at competitive prices.

In addition to the distribution agreement, McKessonHBOC has installed automated prescription fulfillment technology in Soma.com's centralized pharmacy to increase the efficiency and accuracy of prescription refills. This equipment will have the capacity to fill 5,000 individual prescriptions and 5,000 OTC lines per day for Soma.com.
