Oracle's Management Process is Popular with Manufacturers

More than 180 of Oracle Corporation's customers including Alcoa, Sherwin-Williams, Frito-Lay, PPG, Kellogg's, GE Plastics, Schweitzer-Mauduit, McIlhenney, and McKee Foods are using Oracle's comprehensive solution for the process manufacturing industry, Oracle Process Manufacturing (OPM).

Process manufacturing requires a different set of manufacturing processes and rules than discrete manufacturing, which relies on a bill of materials (BOM) to build, assemble or fabricate items. Process manufacturing uses formulas to mix, blend and transform ingredients to create a final product. Oracle addresses these needs, including formula management, inventory control, production planning, scheduling and costing for consumer packaged goods (food, beverages, health and beauty aids) and industrial products (chemical, pharmaceutical and petroleum) manufacturers.

Oracle process manufacturing benefits include rules-based formula management; inventory management tracking and analysis; flexible logistics and costing and optimized production management.

Oracle Corporation is a leading supplier of software for information management.
