PANalytical Acquires Course In Advanced XRF Analysis

Source: PANalytical BV

PANalytical has recently acquired the rights to the renowned 'Willis & Duncan' course on advanced X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis, a long-established program that has contributed greatly to the education and training of X-ray analysts.

The course is dedicated to furthering the understanding of XRF, and PANalytical plans to extend its availability by forming partnerships around the world. In a significant new development, the course materials will also be published in a two-volume book authored by founders, Professors James Willis and Andy Duncan.

By operating this course and making it more widely available, PANalytical is continuing a strong tradition of support for, and partnership with, the X-ray community.

For many years PANalytical has enjoyed a close relationship with Willis and Duncan, both internationally renowned experts in the field of XRF analysis. They began the course in 1974 at the University of Cape Town (South Africa); since 1990 the course has also been run at the University of Western Ontario (London, Canada). Over the years, the Willis & Duncan course has evolved constantly, keeping pace with the latest developments in the field.

The program provides participants with a thorough understanding of XRF spectroscopy and its many applications. It includes lectures and laboratory sessions and covers both wavelength dispersive and energy dispersive XRF.
