Pfizer Canada Expands Ontario Plant
Pfizer Canada, Inc. has announced a $10 million expansion of its Arnprior, Ontario pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. The expansion includes a 12,000-sq. ft. addition to the warehouse and a 7,000-sq. ft. facility to house new locker rooms and a cafeteria for the plant's 130 employees. Existing locker and cafeteria space will be renovated to provide additional office and laboratory facilities.

The expansion reflects the need for increased capacity to deal with growing demand for Pfizer's pharmaceutical products, said Alan Bootes, president and CEO, Pfizer Canada, Inc. The Company's pharmaceutical sales have increased from $52 million in 1992 to an expected $330 million in 1998.
The Arnprior plant produces Pfizer's human pharmaceuticals for the Canadian market as well as for export to the Caribbean region. The plant also manufactures non-prescription Visine(x) eye drops for Canada and most of the world outside the U.S.
