POWDEX/InterFlow Expo, the Mid-Atlantic region's total processing show, attracts a record-setting crowd.

Reed Exhibition Companiesk, CT, November 20, 1998 -- The combination of dry and fluid processing solutions under one roof attracted a record-setting crowd of industry professionals to <%=company%>, which took place October 21 and 22 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey. The addition of solutions for fluid handling and liquid processing created a unique, total processing show, and increased the show's appeal for professionals from the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. As a result, 1998 show attendance increased a dramatic 18% over the 1997 event.

Endorsed by CESEA, the Chemical Equipment Sales Engineers Association, POWDEX/InterFlow featured a comprehensive exhibit of the full range of products and technologies from more than 150 leading suppliers. New features at this year's show included the InterFlow Expo Pavilion, sponsored by Chemical Equipment magazine, and a complimentary reception where exhibitors and attendees could network in a relaxed, informal environment.

"Processing professionals in the Mid-Atlantic region clearly appreciated the value of the opportunities that POWDEX/InterFlow offered," stated Christopher McCabe, Industry Vice President for <%=company%>, which produces POWDEX/InterFlow. "A total of 1,813 industry professionals attended, including end-users, press and exhibitor personnel. Everyone was eager to take advantage of this unique forum to conduct business on a regional basis, meet with reps, see new products and get their questions answered, without a long trip or an overnight stay."

"We are very pleased with the response to the new show concept," McCabe added. "The addition of the InterFlow Expo pavilion has created a unique niche--and a very useful opportunity for interdisciplinary teams to collaborate on purchase decisions that impact both dry and fluid processing operations."

Exhibitors were enthusiastic about this new marketing opportunity. "We had an excellent show," said Grace Faria of Automated Flexible Conveyor. "It was something totally unexpected! We were so pleased with the outcome and we obtained many leads. It was very different from other regional shows we've done. We plan to be in Atlanta for POWDEX next year."

"We had a great experience at POWDEX," added Carl Edelman, sales manager for Minox Elcan. "The quality of the leads was above average. For the size of the show, it provided some very good leads for us."

Attendee comments on the show were also very positive. Norman Diegnan of Diegnan Associates called it "a great opportunity to view processing technology for fluids and dry particulates without traveling from the East Coast." Jack Ladson of Estee Lauder called POWDEX/InterFlow "a fantastic opportunity to see, contact and visit with all the relevant suppliers of products and services in our industry."

"POWDEX/InterFlow was an easy way to survey a lot of new developments in equipment technology," stated Bob Woodbury of American Cyanamid. Eric Lawrence of the Naval Scientific Warfare Center added, "If you don't see it, you'll never know you need it."

POWDEX/InterFlow attendees had the opportunity to see, test and compare a wide variety of processing equipment, conveying equipment, dust collectors and separators, mixers and blenders, packaging/filling equipment, environmental protection equipment, feeders, instruments and controls, material handling and transport equipment, particle enlargers, size reduction equipment, separation and filtration equipment, test and measurement equipment and weighing/batching systems.

The new InterFlow Expo Pavilion, sponsored by Chemical Equipment magazine, featured innovative solutions for liquid processing, flow control and fluid handling. Attendees saw everything from valves, tanks, pumps and gaskets to level detectors, fieldbus technology, flow meters, filtration systems and more, all grouped in one area of the show floor.

Visitors to POWDEX/InterFlow also discovered a wealth of innovative solutions to a variety of processing challenges. New products introduced at POWDEX/InterFlow included an underwater pelletizer from Gala Industries, Inc.; a batch controller from Primary Systems Inc.; a particle sizer from Malvern Instruments; a vacuum loader/unloader from Filtration Engineering; an opacity monitor from Datatest, Inc.; an ultra-sanitary mill from Franklin Miller, Inc. and an explosion isolation valve from Fike Metal Products.

POWDEX/InterFlow '99 will be held October 27-28, 1999 at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, Georgia.
