Prater Industries, Inc.
Prater Industries started out making hammermills to reduce the size of dry friable products, and from there expanded over the years to include other types of size reduction, separation, mixing, compacting, flake breaking, and briquetting equipment, along with feeders to feed these units or to be used as rotary airlock on dust collectors, etc.
In its nearly 75 years of supplying the above mentioned equipment, Prater has tested many thousands of different products, the results of which are computer stored. Today Prater maintains a modern, fully equipped, professionally staffed test lab to run customers products to determine the type and size of equipment they would need to handle their particular product. In addition, a toll lab, utilizing production-sized equipment, is maintained to produce larger quantities for market testing and small production runs. Rental equipment is also available for that purpose.
Prater also develops and supplies "mini-systems", utilizing their equipment, plus dust collectors, blowers, cyclones, piping, and, through another Associated Prater Company, Sterling Controls, Inc. (see separate web site), can incorporate the latest in computerized controls and software, along with micro-ingredient systems where needed. This allows for one source shopping, and one company responsibility.
