Bachem has more than 218,000 ft² of production capacity in the United States and Europe and can provide peptides in kilogram quantities. The company can also develop a production strategy for new products, optimize the production process, scale up the production process to industrial scale, and develop large-scale purification protocols.

It is advisable to first optimize the manufacturing process. This typically results in an economic way to manufacture the product in the quantity and quality desired by clients. Bachem has a team dedicated to such process development work.

Large-scale counter current distribution, high-pressure liquid chromatography equipment, and conventional chromatography (ion exchange, gel chromatography) are utilized to overcome bottlenecks in large-scale purification. Such equipment forms the foundation that allows us to obtain up to 10 kg per lot of highly purified product.

More than twenty large reactors (up to 630 L) are dedicated to the synthesis of amino acid derivatives and peptides in solution. More than 10 reactors (up to 60 L) are dedicated to the solid phase synthesis of peptides
