ProSys announces Dynamic Configuration Software v3.0
ProSys recently announced its latest release of Dynamic Configuration Software (DCS) for Honeywell TDC3000 and TPS control systems. First released in 1995, DCS has become the most widely used real-time dynamic alarm management software worldwide.
Version 3.0 significantly enhances the user interface through the addition of a PC interface. New ActiveX controls can be seamlessly integrated with existing process graphics. Engineers will find the interface makes maintenance of complex applications easier, reducing the total cost of ownership. Operators will also enjoy their new interface that provides easy navigation and better monitoring.
Other new additions include the Analog Alarm Module and enhancements to the Configuration Module. The Analog Alarm Module allows for intelligent management of PV-related alarm priorities and trip points. The new module has proven its value as an effective augmentation to DCS' Global Alarm Module. These powerful tools expand the web of dynamic alarm management by managing alarms more effectively than ever before.
New enhancements to the Configuration Module include dynamic memory management, parameter ramping, and parallel step processing. This greatly increases its application domain in automating startup, shutdown, return to safe operating conditions, backup of shutdown and safety instrumented systems, and many other process configuration applications.
All Modules in the DCS family have new internal validation capability. The most common errors are self-detected to help avoid potential negative impact on desired functionality. This greatly aids the engineer, enabling easy verification of both simple and complex configuration management systems.
The new release prompted the following remarks from ProSys' president Les Jensen, "The release of DCS version 3.0 marks another milestone in the twelve year history of our dynamic alarm management and configuration software. The vastly extended Configuration Module and new Analog Alarm Module dramatically increase the generic performance range of our software.
