Rapid-C+ System: Automated Real-Time Microbial Air Monitoring

S18_Merck_Tara-65 (2)

The Rapid-C+ System is a fully automated, advanced biofluorescent particle counter (BFPC) built for continuous real-time air monitoring, integrated with a C-Catch impaction unit for traditional active air monitoring.

This productivity-boosting solution brings together the best of rapid technologies while fully aligned with GMP. Designed specifically for critical areas, it works effectively in gloved and gloveless isolators or RABS and can be fully integrated into fill and finish production lines. Using morphological analysis based on scattered light patterns and 16-channel fluorescence spectroscopy, the Rapid-C+ System continuously analyses airborne particles across the entire emission spectrum, including that of NAD(P)H. It also determines particle viability in real time using an optical fingerprint library unique to microorganisms. The technology detects viable bacteria, molds and yeasts, including both culturable and non-culturable forms, with high sensitivity, accurately differentiating them from non-viable auto-fluorescent units (AFU) that are largely made up of organic materials. For consumables, the system pairs perfectly with ICR and ICR plus agar settle plates with a variety of neutralizers and enzymes for maximum recovery and reliability across aseptic production environments that meet EU cGMP, FDA Aseptic Guidance, and USP <1116> standards.
