Raychem HTS becomes Tyco Thermal Controls

Expanded product/service offerings fueled by recent acquisitions establish company as the global heating solutions provider

In a move to recognize its expanded range of products and services, Raychem HTS, the leading manufacturer of electrical heat-tracing systems in the world, has now become Tyco Thermal Controls, an operating unit of Tyco Flow Control. Fueled by a series of strategic acquisitions that took place over the last 24 months, the new Tyco Thermal Controls is now positioned as the global heating solutions provider and the leading worldwide provider of heat-tracing design, manufacture, installation and maintenance solutions.

"Operating as Tyco Thermal Controls provides us with a larger umbrella under which we can offer an even more comprehensive range of products and services," says Jim Thompson, president of Tyco Thermal Controls. "It also means that we can acquire those additional brands and products necessary to better serve our expanding customer base." Acquiring Expanded Expertise
To fuel its expansion into Tyco Thermal Controls, the company has been aggressively committed to enlarging its portfolio of products and services to meet the evolving needs of its local and global customers. Over the last 24 months, this commitment has resulted in the acquisition of such companies as Accutron, the heat tracing division of LG-Cable, Isopad, Pyrotenax, Thorin & Thorin and Tracer Industries, Inc.

"Each of these acquisitions align and support our growth strategy," explains Thompson. "For example, Pyrotenax is the world leader in the manufacture of heat-tracing controls and monitoring systems, mineral insulated (MI) cable, thermocouple cable, fire-rated power cable and heat tracing cable. Tracer Industries enhances our ability to offer a wide range of heat-tracing services and turnkey solutions for pipe freeze protection and process temperature maintenance applications for industrial plants."

Design, Manufacture, Installation and Maintenance
The acquisition of Tracer Industries—based in Houston, Texas with substantial operations in Alberta, Canada—makes the combined companies the leading worldwide provider of heat-tracing design, manufacture, installation and maintenance solutions.
