<%=company1%>, the leading global provider of Clinical Manufacturing and Supplies (CMS) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) solutions to the healthcare products industry, announced today that Schering-Plough Research Institute is currently implementing POMS CMS inventory control and electronic batch record (EBR) for clinical and chemical development operations at its Kenilworth, NJ facility. Additional implementations are planned for Schering-Plough's chemical and biotech operations in Union, NJ.

A major imperative for Schering-Plough was to select a company and product solution capable of becoming its global standard. The product needed to provide clear benefit in the areas of reduced cycle time and time-to-benefit. POMS, an established global player in the clinical manufacturing and supplies marketplace, was selected by Schering-Plough after an extensive evaluation of available software against thirty-five critical, functional components needed to duplicate or enhance current operations. POMS was able to meet the stringent requirements with its rich manufacturing and clinical supplies functionality based upon Best Practice Objects (BPO) technology.

Schering-Plough Research Institute is the pharmaceutical research and development arm of Schering-Plough Corporation of Madison, NJ, a research-based company engaged in the discovery, development, manufacturing and marketing of pharmaceutical products worldwide.

"Schering-Plough is committed to leading the world in research-based pharmaceutical and health care initiatives," said David J. Mazzo, Ph.D., senior vice president of Development Operations for Schering-Plough Research Institute. "POMS has proven to be an excellent partner for us in this arena and we are committed to expanding our use of POMS across our worldwide research operations."

"We are excited to be providing a company on the cutting edge of pharmacological science like Schering-Plough with the tools necessary to stay ahead of the marketplace," said President and CEO, Curt Grina, for POMS Corporation. "Schering-Plough joins a growing list of distinguished users of POMS CMS. The rapid expansion of our customer base in clinical operations is a key factor in POMS achieving aggressive growth objectives."
