SciQuest, Inc., the global leader in helping academic and research-centric organizations realize the potential of strategic procurement, recently announced the appointment of Ralph Mazza as vice president of global professional services. Mazza brings to SciQuest more than 20 years of experience helping research-intensive companies transform their business and IT processes.
In this role, Mazza will oversee the company's growing portfolio of managed services offered through its global professional services group. Through these managed services, SciQuest works directly with customers and their suppliers to ensure a rapid and smooth transition from existing systems to SciQuest's eprocurement solution suite.
Mazza's appointment reflects the company's record-breaking performance this year through forecasted revenue generation and expansion of its rapidly growing customer base. Nine of the world's 15 largest pharmaceutical companies and more than 60 leading colleges and universities use SciQuest's on-demand offering to automate their procurement processes, save money through pre-negotiated contracts, gain real-time visibility into spending and realize greater business efficiencies.
"SciQuest's success as the only profitable eprocurement company and a leader in the market for on-demand solutions stems from our commitment to provide customers with expert guidance and personal service every step of the way," said Stephen Wiehe, president and CEO of SciQuest. "Our global professional services are the core of the service-oriented approach we follow to ensure that our customers achieve a rapid return on investment and are positioned to realize the full potential of strategic procurement through our solutions. Ralph's experience leading global consulting organizations will further strengthen SciQuest's market-differentiating commitment to its rapidly-growing customer base."
Mazza joins SciQuest from Keane, Inc., a global services firm specializing in business and IT transformation, where he served as the healthcare and pharmaceutical client management executive. At Keane for more than 15 years, he was responsible for the management of the company's entire North American healthcare and pharmaceutical customer base, and succeeded in generating in excess of $150 million in revenue, exceeding revenue expectations by 105%.
"Service excellence, deep domain expertise, and a customer-first approach are the necessary ingredients for a fast and effective implementation. SciQuest's commitment to this principle is seen in its rapid growth and 99 percent renewal rate," said Mazza. "I look forward to expanding SciQuest's already enviable portfolio of managed services to provide its growing customer base with even greater value."
Prior to Keane, Mazza served as a consultant for Broadway & Seymour where he oversaw the design, development, and implementation of the Environmental Protection Agency's DB2 and Oracle RBDM systems.
