A Successful Collaboration
As part of its ongoing efforts towards improving its core products, Altana Pharma recently decided to upgrade its packaging and it asked Industria Macchine Automatiche (IMA) to provide the solution.
Since the drug is used in long-term treatments, Altana’s first priority was to find a packaging solution that helps patients remember to take their medication. Also, after receiving feedback from people taking the drug regularly, Altana learned that an easy-to-use package with clear and simple instructions would be appreciated. The company decided that creating a smaller blister card with just a week’s dose would meet these requirements. In addition, because larger packages are handled more often, they can break over longer periods of time, potentially leaving the medication unprotected, and smaller packs avoid this problem.
