Sigma-Aldrich Fine Chemicals, a division of Sigma-Aldrich Corp., has introduced its Chemical Strategic Sourcing (CHESS) system providing 240,000 chemicals in any quantity required by manufacturing customers. The CHESS global sourcing service complements Sigma-Aldrich Fine Chemicals' existing offering of over 85,000 life science and high technology products in large to commercial scale, and custom and cGMP manufacturing capabilities at the company's state-of-the-art production facilities.

Sigma-Aldrich's proprietary CHESS database includes 240,000 chemical compounds, over 500,000 quotes from 8,000 suppliers at 12,000 locations in 75 countries. Sigma-Aldrich's expertise in dealing with suppliers worldwide—many times with the benefit of local relationships through operations located in 33 countries—eliminates the import/export challenges and ensures reliable supply with local availability for fast product delivery to meet customers' critical timelines.
