SIMSCI launches service solutions to aid customers
"By offering SIM4ME Service Solutions, our customers can benefit from SIMSCI's 30-plus years of process simulation software knowledge and expertise," said Brian Ahern, president of SIMSCI. "Our customers are looking for more than just technology and product functionality. By engaging SIM4ME Service Solutions, customers will reduce valuable project lead times and costs, while increasing profitability and maximizing the use of rigorous predictive models to aid efficient operations and reduce capital costs."
"Toyo Engineering Corp. achieved significant improvements in our engineering study work through the use of SIMSCI's flexible services and software, resulting in a customized version which is now indispensable to our daily work," said Masakazu Sasaki, technical expert at Toyo Engineering.
"Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. achieved a savings of 60% in operating costs and 50% in plant construction cost as a direct result of using SIMSCI's simulation models," said Hideo Nakajima, general manager, Coke Production Division at Mitsubishi Chemical.
SIM4ME Service Solutions
The SIM4ME Service Solutions provide an efficient means of getting model-based technology implemented rapidly, within the ongoing constraints experienced by operating and engineering companies with limited resources and reduced levels of experience. These services allow companies the unique ability to create software interfaces, integrate with in-house and third-party software, develop complex modeling simulations and optimization tools, receive ongoing project support, comprehensive risk analysis and consultant services. SIM4ME Service Solutions include the following:
OLE Automation and Application Integration Services
Using either comprehensive application programming interfaces (API's) or Microsoft's OLE2/COM automation standards, SIMSCI provides services to develop integration for clients that enable easy transfer of data into and out of simulation programs. For example, this can be applied from an automated Excel spreadsheet executing a simulation to a customized reactor or unit operation model built into PRO/II.
Process Modeling Services
SIMSCI's process modeling experts can create complete simulations or tune up an existing model to match current operations or design requirements. The models, ranging from integrated oil and gas production systems to complex polymer reaction and separation, are built ready for delivery with comprehensive documentation, allowing for possible case study work.
Advisory Optimization Services
Utilizing SIMSCI's expertise, simulation models can be upgraded to optimization tools to drive improved plant profitability. Because existing models are linked to operations data and tuned to match plant operating conditions, SIMSCI can apply optimization within defined constraints and complete a benefit study for real-time optimization or for day-to-day operational support. SIMSCI also provides a full oil and gas production system model with optimization, advising the best way to allocate gas lift to maximize produced oil.
Risk Analysis Services
SIMSCI offers comprehensive risk analysis services using both steady state and transient simulation technology. These services range from evaluating the need for new flare system capacity to control strategy design and evaluation to performing relief valve evaluations or performing operational analysis off-line to forecast potential plant operation risks.
SIM4ME University
SIMSCI offers a comprehensive worldwide training program. Through its new SIM4ME University, SIMSCI offers a wide variety of hands-on training seminars for every level of user around the worldincluding advanced training courses for specialist users in their own plantsall taught by highly experienced and qualified engineers.
