Oval Medical has developed a novel Prefilled Primary Drug Container (PDC) that resolves many known drug compatibility and functionality issues associated with the use of traditional glass syringe and rubber plunger technologies (e.g. contamination, glass breakage, variable delivery forces). The PDC’s reconfigurable geometry and moulded external interface features facilitate improved autoinjector design resulting in smaller, more reliable products. These promote improved user compliance and provide consistent results for inserted needle depth, delivered volumes and delivery times (addressing the issue of wet injections). Additionally, devices can be configured to accommodate larger volumes and higher viscosities than traditional glass and rubber based technologies.
