SmartPlant Explorer 3.0

The 3.0 version of the SmartPlant Explorer is a Web-based data access and reporting software for the process plant life cycle. It includes a module that enables accessing, searching and reporting on the company's INtools instrumentation data. SmartPlant Explorer 3.0 features redesigned software architecture, live data access capability, interface improvements and customization options.

INtools is the integrated software toolset for instrumentation systems design, engineering, maintenance and life cycle data management.

SmartPlant Explorer 3.0 helps increase the value and utility of plant data while lowering total cost of ownership because it is easier to use, configure, and maintain than previous versions. The quick, point-and-click display, navigation and reporting functions help users reduce search time for plant data by 30 to 40 percent. It provides instant access to live data, which significantly increases accuracy because erroneous, duplicate or obsolete sources of information are eliminated.

Users can access INtools instrumentation data, including information for instrument indexes, specifications and control loops. Users can query, sort, filter and report on INtools data. Information is displayed within the Microsoft Internet Explorer window or automatically placed in a Microsoft Excel worksheet. Because SmartPlant Explorer provides live, enterprise-wide access to instrumentation data, users do not need to have INtools software installed on their PCs.

The server component of SmartPlant Explorer runs on the Microsoft Windows NT Server (NTS) version 4.0 or higher operating system and requires Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS). No client installation is required, since users require only the standard Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.02 or hgiher on their PCs.
