Solving The Oil Adsorption Challenge In Pharmaceutical Formulations

Oils are used in pharmaceutical formulations to improve taste, prepare stable suspensions of drugs, add stability to active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) that are sensitive to hydrolysis. Also, oils are used as drug solubilizers, adsorption enhancers and vehicles for lipid based drug delivery to increase the oral bioavailability of poorly soluble drugs.

The challenge in oil-based formulations is to convert oily solutions and liquid formulations into compressible solid or semi-solid formulations.
