What are they?
Süd-Chemie's Handy Active Tubes (HAT) are rigid tubes with easy-to-open hinged-cap lids. Tubes are available with either Süd-Chemie‘s patented desiccant polymer material or its traditional polymer tube and desiccant cap combination. Both options offer moisture protection superior to other hinged-cap tubes on the market.

Why use them?
Products like diagnostic test strips, candies and tablets are often sensitive to moisture and breakage. Süd-Chemie HAT solutions allow manufacturers to ensure that their products maintain their quality during shipping, storage and handling. Because they are so easy to use, they also increase marketability among end users.

HAT solutions help manufacturers streamline workflow by eliminating the need for desiccant insertion, foil pouching or carton packaging. Designed with automation in mind, they feature a unique removable hinged-cap design ideal for use in automated filling lines. Customized six-color designs can be printed directly onto the tubes for heightened brand recognition.

Available configurations
Süd-Chemie‘s HAT tubes are customized to meet customer needs, making the available configurations almost endless. Tubes are non-dusting, safe and environmentally friendly. Designs include:

HAT-IN (Desiccant Polymer): The tube is made of Süd-Chemie‘s signature ADP™ Advanced Desiccant Polymer, which combines the advantages of traditional polymers – such as rigid protection and ergonomic design – with the benefits of advanced moisture protection.

HAT-ON (Desiccant Cap): A cost-effective alternative is Süd-Chemie‘s hinged-cap tube with desiccant in the cap. Offering advanced absorption characteristics, its unique three-piece design incorporates traditional desiccant fill in the cap.

HAT-SNAP (Hinged Caps): This option allows for the use of a hinged cap with any of Süd-Chemie‘s standard, lipped polymer tubes. Hinged caps are injection molded and filled with desiccant. They can then be attached to Süd-Chemie‘s tubes, making them an economical option.
