The PharmaSafe Split Butterfly Valves (SBV) powder containment system ensures high integrity worker protection when transferring potent products from process to process. The addition of bulk powders into the reactor for synthesis processes can pose significant risk to operators. A common interface connection makes the transfer from previous dispensing process steps easy. The PharmaSafe system can be adapted with several accessories to meet many different process scales and set ups, in any case nanogram level containment performance can be achieved to reduce these associated risks of exposure.
This animation shows how the PharmaSafe system can be adapted for several typical unit operations utilizing rigid or flexible containers. ChargeBottle containers with integral flush capability show how difficult powder product can given a helping hand or ChargeBag containers offer a single use method of controlled powder addition. A sightglass accessory allows the Active connection on the vessel to be utilised for process viewing in the absence of a spare reactor nozzle. Finally, dedicated Wash In Place (WIP) accessories ensure the gross contamination is removed form the Active unit a the end of a batch / campaign.
