SYSTECH Streamlines Packaging Execution Systems With New Release Of Systech TIPS™ Engine
White Paper: Packaging Execution Systems Benefit Lean Manufacturing Initiatives
Drawing on its deep expertise in supporting pharmaceutical packaging environments, SYSTECH International, an innovator of Packaging Execution Systems (PES), has introduced SYSTECH TIPS Engine v 8.0.
The new version of the SYSTECH TIPS Engine utilizes a building-block architecture to represent the workflow of a packaging line. By mirroring the actual packaging line in the software, data from each vision and line management system streams more quickly to critical packaging line applications such as SYSTECH Serialized Product Tracking (SPT) and SYSTECH OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
The new engine user interface employs icons to visually represent components and functions of the packaging execution system. Packaging line engineers can easily assemble and realign these icons as they implement and modify their packaging lines. In this way, SYSTECH's unique productized software approach helps increase packaging line throughput and accuracy while easing configuration and management requirements.
"TIPS Engine v 8.0 provides manufacturers the actionable intelligence they need to make better business decisions faster then ever before," said Joseph Ringwood, vice president of sales and operations, SYSTECH International. "This version of our TIPS Engine further enhances our powerful productized PES offering and illustrates our dedication to making SYSTECH solutions easy for our customers to deploy and manage."
The TIPS Engine v 8.0 complements SYSTECH's core vision and line management solutions offerings, thereby enhancing the company's rollout of PES. The engine addresses pharmaceutical manufacturers' needs for elegant solutions that are alternatives to customized software to configure and administer line- and machine-level operations.
Packaging execution systems are automated technology schemes that seamlessly integrate some or all of the critical packaging line information functions: vision inspection, line management, serialization and performance measurement. A complete PES also communicates directly with an organization's enterprise system or other manufacturing applications, so data can be synthesized into actionable intelligence and drive better informed business decisions.
"Packaging execution systems are absolutely necessary to operate at optimal efficiency in the pharmaceutical business today," said Sal Spada, Research Director, ARC Advisory Group. "By providing consistent, reliable metrics and detailed analytical tools and interfaces with central ERP systems, a PES serves as the core infrastructure to manage and optimize packaging operations. SYSTECH is one of the innovators offering a complete PES and is reshaping how manufacturers think about packaging lines."
SYSTECH approaches a packaging execution system with a productized software suite. SYSTECH Sentri, SYSTECH Advisor, and SYSTECH Guardian integrated through the SYSTECH TIPS Engine v 8.0, comprise the complete scaleable and repeatable solution. The repeatable nature of the suite enables manufacturers to deploy across packaging lines, affording an increased speed-to-market, operational consistency and overall cost-savings.
SYSTECH TIPS Engine v 8.0 will be available to SYSTECH customers beginning Q1 2008.
