Tantalum and Niobium Metallurgical Products

Tantalum and niobium metallurgical products are used widely to produce equipment for the CPI, pharmaceutical, medical, defense, aerospace and electronic industries. The chemical and pharmaceutical industries use process equipment fabricated from tantalum and niobium components. Their corrosion resistance makes tantalum and niobium ideally suited for highly corrosive environments. Because of its high melting point, tantalum is used in the electronics industry forheating elements, shields and vacuum furnaces in the production of tantalumcapacitors. Tantalum is also often used in medical applications because it is inert to the body's fluids. Tantalum heat transfer units are also used in steel production pickling lines.
