The Qualicaps Group Appoints Takayuki Kawamura As President, Qualicaps Japan

The Qualicaps Group, a leading global supplier of empty two-piece gelatin and Quali-V® brand non-gelatin capsules and capsule filling and sealing equipment, has appointed Mr. Takayuki Kawamura as president of Qualicaps Japan.

Mr. Kawamura has more than 30 years of professional experience, having begun his career in research and development at Asahi Chemicals Industries in Japan. Some of Mr. Kawamura's career highlights include: a two-year overseas assignment with Dow Chemical in Midland, MI, US during his 12-year career at Asahi Chemicals; a 14-year tenure at ICI Japan where he held several leadership positions; leading a successful turnaround of ICI Japan's Ibaraki Works film business in the 1990's; President of Fisher Rosemount Japan, a unit of Emerson Electric; President of Cookson PLC, a chemical and associated electronics equipment business in Japan; and Japan Country Manager and President of Sola Optical International, Inc., a unit of Carl Zeiss Vision GMBH.

Mr. Kawamura holds bachelor's and master's degrees in chemistry from the University of Tokyo.

In his new role, Mr. Kawamura will be responsible for all the business and operational functions in Japan, including leadership and oversight of the Japan capsule business, the global machinery and equipment business, and the day-to-day leadership responsibility for Qualicaps' global research and development team. Mr. Kawamura will also become a member of the Qualicaps global leadership team.
