TransTracker® CF
Product Sheet: TransTracker® Temperature Indicators
Effect of Heat and Freeze Excursions
Many medical products can be damaged and lose potency if they are exposed to temperatures above a certain threshold limit for a short period of time or if they are frozen. While exposure to heat above the threshold or below freezing for a few minutes may not have any effect on the core temperature of the product, a heat excursion above the threshold for a period of time, or a freeze event may damage the product. Such excursions can go unnoticed during shipping.
Irreversible Instantaneous Heat and Freeze Excursion Indicators
TransTracker CF single-use devices have two indicators: one that irreversibly changes color from white to red to signal that a heat threshold excursion has occurred with some time delay, and another that irreversibly changes from green to white to signal that a freeze event has occurred. These devices monitor heat and freeze sensitive products during short-term shipping. The TransTracker CF device is placed inside or can be affixed to the exterior of multiple unit secondary packages or shipping boxes. It is an ideal tool to meet quality requirements and manage risk throughout storage and shipment of medical products.
Standard TransTracker CF devices are available with freeze response temperatures of 0°C, -1°C and -5°C (all ± 1°C) and with threshold heat response temperatures of 9°C, 17°C, 21°C and 25°C (all ± 1°C). Customized card designs and messaging are available.
