Uhlmann Introduces New Feeding Systems For Pharmaceutical Liquids
Developed in close collaboration with pharmaceutical companies, the Liquid Product Feeder (LiPro) and Syringe Product Feeder (SyPro) are GMP-compatible, easy to clean, offer rapid changeover for different applications, and are compatible with all sizes of Uhlmann thermoformers.
For operation with vials, carpules and ampoules, the LiPro uses a high-frequency vibrating conveyor to move products upright to a separating roller, minimizing pressure to avoid both breakage and label damage. A pneumatically propelled pusher steers the products into a rake, which guides them into separating grooves. Via servomotor, the roller rotates 90ยบ intermittently. From there, a robot lifts the products off and places them in the blister compartments. Capable of feeding up to 450 ampoules or vials per minute, the LiPro features user-friendly operation, easy removal of pneumatically clamped parts for cleaning, and can double its output for smaller product dimensions.
The SyPro offers exact feeding positioning for both glass and plastic syringes, with single-line interlink or manual loading and a vibrating rail system that conveys products into a deflection bend, where they are rotated into the horizontal position. A swivel-arm robot with vacuum suckers then grabs the syringes and exactly places them in the blister pack. Up to 300 syringes in all common sizes, including syringes with a safety needle system, can be packed per minute. There is also the option of adding a second feeding system in parallel to extend the feeding capability to 600 per minute. For single-line machines and smaller volume runs, the SyPro can be installed without robots, depositing syringes directly into blister packs via the deflection bend and a brush-in unit.
