Ultra-Fast Liquid Chromatography: Combining Speed And Precision

The use of high-speed LC has been increasing as researchers seek to reduce sample analysis times. The use of ultrahigh-pressure instrumentation has allowed the use of smaller particle size columns that increase the speed and efficiency of the separations. However, ultrahigh-pressure analysis has been slow to be adopted in regulated environments due to the poor precision that is often obtained under these conditions.

The use of 2.2 um columns designed to operate at lower pressures now allows high-speed analysis with excellent precision. A number of applications will be presented that display the improved precision results that can be obtained using Ultra-Fast LC conditions.
