UPM Pharmaceuticals Recognized In FiercePharma's Top 10 CMOs List
Baltimore-based contract manufacturing organization (CMO) UPM Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has been recognized as one of the top pharmaceutical manufacturing leaders on FiercePharma's list of Top 10 Standout CMOs. The ranking is based on client perception and awareness.
UPM Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a Baltimore-based independent drug development and contract manufacturer, has recently been recognized by respected online publication FiercePharma in its Top 10 Standout CMOs list.
FiercePharma is a publication of online marketing and lead generation leader FierceMarkets. The online publication serves as the monitor of the pharmaceutical industry, delivering news on pharmaceutical companies and the market development of FDA approved products.
To develop the list of Top 10 Standout CMOs, FiercePharma collaborated with Nice Insight (a division of marketing agency That's Nice LLC), which provides intelligence on the industry perception of a business. Nice Insight has put together a database of CMO ratings based on client perception (CP) and awareness (CA), and has designed an analytical system for scoring.
UPM Pharmaceuticals earned a CP score of 77 and a CA rating of 52% from Nice Insight. The company is best known for its formulation development services, but also offers GMP manufacturing, tableting and capsule filling, stability testing, scale-up and tech transfer, and analytical services. The company is also licensed by the DEA for scheduled substances.
UPM Pharmaceuticals recently announced its plan to add nearly 50% more manufacturing space to its facilities, including an OEB 4 processing room, a low humidity processing suite, and a dedicated Xcelodose production facility.
In September, company president James Gregory said in a statement that this expansion is in response to requests from clients for the "production of compounds with more stringent environmental safety requirements."
