VK 5010 Measuring Device
The VK 5010 utilizes a stainless steel sphere for calculating height measurement. The sphere settles to the apex of the vessel, after which the unit's gauges are zeroed. The head is lowered into position and an exact height measurement is attained. Trigonometric determination of the true centerpoint of the vessel is also carried out by the VK 5010, and needs only one revolution of the shaft. Its gauges are easily calibrated and traceable. The device can store the centerline offset and height measurement for each position in up to 30 testers, at 8 vessels per tester in non-volatile memory. In addition, the instrument also stores tester serial numbers, shaft ID, vessel ID and vessel location for simplified record-keeping.
The VK 5010 is easily portable, comes equipped to measure both paddles and baskets, and can be used on both open and closed vessel dissolution testing systems. In the case of a closed system, the device's sensor cables can be detached and inserted into the vessel through an opening of at least 0.6 in. diameter. The VK 5010's on board printer documents data in hardcopy form and a highly visible LCD display presents measurements as procedures are performed. The unit can be line-operated or battery-powered.
