The Milliflex® Rapid System 2.0 combines membrane filtration and ATP bioluminescence to detect, image and quantify microcolonies of bacteria, molds or yeasts up to 4 times faster than compendial sterility or bioburden testing methods.
The workflow involves three steps:
- Membrane filtration of the sample and transfer of the membrane filter onto an agar plate for incubation
- Automated application onto the membrane of the reagents needed for the ATP bioluminescence reaction
- Detection & enumeration of microcolonies, computer-based result analysis
