The study examines the effect of Animal Origin Free (AOF) peptones on the productivity of Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells, which are commonly used in the pharmaceutical industry to produce monoclonal antibodies (mAbs). The research demonstrates that peptones, protein hydrolysates that can be animal-derived or AOF, can enhance mAb titers. This study focuses on Gibco AOF peptones and their impact on cell density, viability, and mAb titers, with results suggesting that peptones can provide rapid solutions for media and feed optimization to achieve high cell growth and titers. However, the effect of peptones may vary depending on the cell line, basal media, and feeding strategy used.
