This study explores the use of X-ray inspection systems for internal examination of pharmaceutical products, particularly non-transparent packaged drugs. Anritsu, in collaboration with the Ozeki laboratory of Nagoya City University, has been studying the effects of X-rays on pharmaceutical products since 2011. Their research has confirmed that X-ray exposure does not affect the quality of the products. The tests conducted included drug content, elution, disintegration, hardness, content change, and appearance/sensory tests, all of which showed no negative impact from X-ray inspection. The study concludes that X-ray inspections can be safely used for pharmaceutical products, offering a potential improvement in quality control processes.
