How Lifecycle Biotechnologies Used Human-Centered Engineering To Improve HPLC Mobile Phase Delivery
By Lifecycle Biotechnologies

Dust, particulates, and fumes entering open mobile phase containers cost ethanol production labs clogged columns, interrupted runs, repeat testing, and downtime, and with few container alternatives available, teams treated those costs as routine.
Lifecycle Biotechnologies engineers took a different route: they observed technicians at work and examined the whole user experience, from how containers were connected to how often they were replaced. A later partnership with Midland Scientific surfaced two further challenges that shaped a second-generation design. The principles behind the work, including contamination control and workflow efficiency, also extend to pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing.
Explore how the team moved from observation to design.
