HyPerforma Glass Bioreactor For Fermentation Of Saccharomyces Cerevisiae

This application note describes the cultivation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae in the Thermo Scientific™ HyPerforma™ Glass Bioreactor with a maximum working volume of 2.0 L. Using the chemically defined medium D, it was possible to produce up to 5.33 g/L of dry biomass using 40 g/L glucose. The cells were grown under aerobic conditions with a specific growth rate of up to 0.4/hr and a yield coefficient for the biomass of 0.13 gCDW/gGluc.
