The reactive struggles during the pandemic, political upheaval across the globe, and the current financial market, would seem to suggest that pharma is in trouble. The current trends in pharmaceutical quality industry practices, however, are revealing companies are taking positive steps to withstand these disruptions and continuing to invest in a down market.

The world at large has changed dramatically over the past few years, most notably in determining the ways that we stay healthy and simultaneously in the ways that we connect to one another. This applies to businesses as well as individuals. For pharma professionals who are invested in quality, this has exposed vulnerabilities in supply chains, data integrity, analytics, quality assurance, and an inability to connect effectively with patient needs and demands. Even with a bear market settling in, there is a need to recalibrate quality protocols and practices to get through periods of slowdown.

As the FDA attempts to transform outdated practices, advancements in pharmaceutical quality technology will require the industry to be more responsible for self-regulation. Efforts to modernize will pay for themselves and allow pharmaceutical companies to function in both optimal and sustainable ways. Explore how quality leaders are tackling pharma disruptions head-on and why developing resilient quality processes and sustainable products is vital.
