Powder/Liquid Mixer For Viscous Pharmaceutical Syrup

Source: Silverson Machines, Inc.
Heartburn Syrup Feature

One of Pakistan's major pharmaceutical companies was manufacturing a viscous heartburn and indigestion relief syrup using local mixers. The mixers were not equipped to handle the range of difficult powders that needed incorporating, or the very high viscosity of the end product. As such, the company was struggling to get their desired product even with very long mixing times. No matter how long the solution was mixed for, the previous mixing equipment could not break down agglomerates that had formed in the mix and unhydrated powder remained. More time was then added to processing as the solution needed to be put through a filtration stage to remove the agglomerates.

After this lengthy process, the company was still not happy with the result and wanted a much more uniformly mixed/homogenized product that would be consistent batch after batch. A trial was arranged with a powder/liquid mixer recommended for this application. Learn about the results achieved across the trials.
